Version: Manga, near the end of the Kakashi Gaiden after Obito gives Kakashi his eye.

Appearance: Obito really looks his age, being 154 cm (5”1) and having an expressive boyish face and the average build of someone his age. He has coal black eyes (though he’ll be missing one considering the point he'll be pulled from) that are a noticeable trait in the Uchiha family and short black spiky hair. When he's using the Sharingan his eye turns red and he has two tomoe around his central pupil that indicate the level of his Sharingan.

His outfit consists out of very dark blue pants, shirt and a vest that is orange along the seams and bears the Uchiha clan crest (a red and white fan) on the back. The sleeves of the shirt are longer than the sleeves of the vest and have steel plates that rest on the back of his hands. He wears the usual ninja shoes with open toes. His pants are tugged into the bandages he wears around his lower legs to prevent them from getting in the way.

Furthermore he wears orange goggles and the headband that shows his alliance to Konoha. He keeps his ninja equipment in two pouches that are held in place on his backside by an orange belt. He also has the standard shuriken holster strapped to his right leg.

Personality: Obito is very brash, he speaks before thinking and because of this he tends to mouth others off. He’s called a coward and a crybaby numerous times by his teammate Kakashi. Although both these statements are quite correct and Obito has trouble hiding his emotions and he does tend to cry when scared, he can be exceptionally brave when it comes to saving his friends no matter how scared he is. He believes in the importance of self-control and caring for your friends.

His teammates mean the world to him, especially Rin whom he had a crush on, and he’d do anything for them. He’d even die for them, which he in fact did. His view on the ninja world is “those in the ninja world who break the rules and regulations are called trash but those who don’t care about their companions are worse trash” and he’s very stubborn about his views. But despite being such a loud mouth, Obito is actually full of self-doubt.

He’s known to be a procrastinator and is prone to random acts of kindness like helping an old lady across the road and helping her bring back her groceries. All things considered he may have been thought of as a failure of the Uchiha clan (he’s aware of this and even calls himself a loser) but no one can deny the fact he had great potential.

Fears: Obito has fears like any average thirteen year old. He's afraid of death, confrontation, getting hurt and losing his friends. However as a ninja he's not supposed to have these but he's still just a kid after all. One that is easily scared.

He's also afraid of never being able to get acknowledgement. Acknowledgement being the reason for his loud mouth and his boasting about going to surpass Kakashi.

Weaknesses: His brash attitude and the fact he can be a terrible coward and a crybaby. He shows his emotions far too easily which is a great failing as a ninja. He seems to have sensitive eyes (considering the fact he wears goggles and seems to be using eye drops frequently) and now that he’s missing one he’ll have a blind spot too.

Strengths/Abilities: As a ninja Obito is capable of using his chakra for many things like walking on water and vertical surfaces, attacks like the Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu (Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, an attack that produces flames) and of course the Sharingan (which grants the user a much greater perception and the ability to see the movement and flow of chakra).

The Sharingan not only allows the user to see the movement and flow of chakra, it is also able to memorize any technique it witnesses whether they be Genjutsu, Taijutsu or Ninjutsu (Genjutsu being Illusory techniques and Ninjutsu being Ninja techniques that both need chakra and handseals, Taijutsu being hand-to-hand combat). The only limit is that they can't copy other bloodline limits or summon beasts they have no contract with. Sadly Obito died before he could really use it much. Should he ever manage to get the maximum tomoe of three, he would be able to predict his enemy's movements.

Being an Uchiha means he's a born and bred fighter. So he's actually pretty decent when it comes to Taijutsu if he puts his mind to it, the Sharingan making his already ninja fast reflexes even faster.

His being a shinobi aside, once Obito has the determination to do something he'll see it through till the end. He can be a very reliable friend to have because of this.

History:
Obito grew up in a time where there were wars being waged by all the five countries and children who were ninjas got pushed through the ranks of shinobi faster, most likely to fill in the gaps of those who died on the battlefield. Whether or not it was because of this or simply because they deserved the higher ranks still doesn’t change the fact Obito’s progress was quite impressive by the normal standards of graduation in Konoha now.

Obito graduated from the academy at nine years old. He became a chuunin at eleven and he did all this without the aid of the Sharingan to help him succeed, which wasn't activated until just before his death at thirteen years old in the battle of the Kanabi Bridge.

His death occurred in a mission in which they were to destroy a bridge, the Kanabi Bridge, that was used for the transfer of supplies to the enemy country. Obito’s teammate, Kakashi, had graduated to Jounin and was appointed as the team’s leader by Minato (who was their teacher) and they were to destroy the bridge while Minato went to the direct front-lines to keep the enemy distracted.

Nevertheless there were still patrols about and Rin got caught by two of them. Kakashi had wanted to move on and leave her behind for the sake of the mission but Obito would have none of it and went to save her after having told Kakashi about his views on what ‘trash’ really was. Obito nearly got killed when he got to the enemy’s hideout but Kakashi saved him at the cost of his left eye.

In the battle with one of the ninjas Obito managed to finally activate his Sharingan and kill the man. They then moved on together to save Rin and succeeded only to have the second ninja use a jutsu that made the entire hideout collapse. In the rush to escape the falling boulders Kakashi got hit by a rock in his blind spot but Obito managed to push him out of the way.

He ended up stuck beneath a huge boulder with his entire right side completely crushed. It was obvious he wouldn’t make it so Obito asked Rin to give Kakashi his eye so his Sharingan became his graduation present for Kakashi. His final wish was for Kakashi to take care of Rin and he died, glad to have Kakashi finally become his friend but unable to confess his feelings for Rin.

However unknown to him, he ended up going somewhere completely else just moments before actually dying.
